2004 Fukuoka Workshop
“Daniel explains a concept until even a beginner can understand it.”
“I love how Daniel focused on refining the basics rather than flashy moves. I feel like I got something extra out of the workshop.”
“What I learned from this workshop has really helped my dancing. A chock-full of information.”
“Very clear and easy to understand. I loved especially the extremely detailed analytical approach.”
(Regarding Daniel’s dancing) “I’m not quite sure how he moves like that. His footwork was especially sexy. It’s how I envisioned a dance instructor would dance. Please come to Fukuoka again next year!
“He looks good no matter who he dances with. Awesome! Playful on the dance floor, he’s both fun to watch and dance with.”
“Very good at explaining things. I learned a lot from this workshop. I now have a good understanding of how much tension I need to provide to my partner. Before since I used to ignore a lead and move by myself, I was missing out on the dynamics of the dance. Now it’s so much easier to surrender the control to the leader. I think I stop waisting energy from tensing my arms. I think I now dance better with various partners. I’m starting to understand the different degrees of compression and matching principles. I now have more fun on the dance floor thanks to Daniel.”
“Daniel’s lessons are so much fun and easy to understand.”
2003 Nagano Camp
“The camp was both extremely fun and beneficial. Since students exchanged feedbacks with one another, I was able to take a look at my dancing from a different perspective. Thanks to Dan and all those who gave me helpful feedback. Glad I came!!”
“Thanks to Daniel’s wonderful supervision I was able to overcome Balboa… I’m more excited than every about my dancing… I promise to practice more Balboa.”
“Thanks so much for making this camp a reality. I’m so touched by all of Daniel’s little act of kindness and attention to the small things. I was in a slump from several months back, but Dan was able to show me things that I didn’t notice about my dancing. I feel that much more passionate about improving now.”
“I got a lot out this camp. It was so much fun. I’m glad that I decided to just go.”
“I just got a bunch of mail today from folks who went to the camp. Everyone raved about it! Of course, I was raving about it to everyone else, too. It was an incredible success. Congratulations. I can’t believe that it was your first time planning for camp like this. Nothing seems impossible for you, huh? Looking forward to the next one.”
“The camp made me think about so many things. Nothing can be more wonderful than being surrounded by close friends. You taught everyone one-by-one to late hours at night without showing one sign of fatigue. I was particularly impressed by your passion and energy…”
“Thank you so much for everything (^_^). It was the best camp ever! I first felt jeaouls how everyone else’s dancing got better. But now I realized that I just need more practice. Thanks for clearing up my questions. Next is the Shag for me (laughs).”
“The camp was fun. The best. Daniel is truly a wonderful instructor. I can now dance the Balboa—somethign I’ve been wanting to do in a long time. Thank you!”
“The camp was sooooooooo much fun. I’m so glad I was there. Thanks for inviting me to come along!!! A wonderful cabin up in the mountains with the best cooking topped off by the best dance lessons. Didn’t realize that so much could be so different with a little change in attitude!”
“You can feel a lot of passion and energy in Daniel’s teaching”
